Michaelis-Menten dynamics of a polymer chain out of a dichotomous ATP-based motor

چکیده
We present a model of an ATP-fueled molecular machine which push a polymer through a pore channel. The machine acts between two levels (workingwaiting), and the working one remains active for a fixed time giving a constant force. The machine activation rate can be put in relationship with the available ATP concentration in the solution, which gives the necessary energy supply. The translocation time shows a monotonic behaviour as a function of the activation frequency and the velocity follows a Michaelis-Menten law that arises naturally in this description. The estimation of the stall force of the motor follows a corrected Michaelis-Menten law which still is to be checked in experimental investigation. The results presented agree with recent biological experimental findings.

Phenomenological Analysis of ATP Dependence of Motor Proteins
In this study, through phenomenological comparison of the velocity-force data of processive motor proteins, including conventional kinesin, cytoplasmic dynein and myosin V, I found that, the ratio between motor velocities of two different ATP concentrations is almost invariant for any substall, superstall or negative external loads. Therefore, the velocity of motors can be well approximated by ...

Effects of ATP and Mg2+ concentrations on bioluminescence reaction of luciferase (Photinus pyralis) were investigated by home-made luminometer. The Michaelis constants of the enzyme for ATP and Mg2+ obtained from the Lineweaver-Burk graph, were 61.9 mM ±3.3 mM and 251.6mM ± 39.0mM...
متن کاملPattern formation in a stochastic model of cancer growth
We investigate noise-induced pattern formation in a model of cancer growth based on Michaelis-Menten kinetics, subject to additive and multiplicative noises. We analyse stability properties of the system and discuss the role of diffusion and noises in the system’s dynamics. We find that random dichotomous fluctuations in the immune response intensity along with Gaussian environmental noise lead...

Two multi-phasic models (logistic (LOG) and Michaelis-Menten (MM)) with three sub-curves were used to describe gas production kinetics of corn (CG), barley (BG), wheat (WG) and triticale (TG) grains. In each model sub curve, 1 describes the gas production caused by fermentation of the soluble fraction, gas production caused by fermentation of the non-soluble fraction is described in sub curve 2...
متن کاملCooperativity in the motor activities of the ATP-fueled molecular motors.
Kinesin, myosin and F1-ATPase are multi-domain molecular motors with multiple catalytic subunits. The motor mechanochemics are achieved via the conversion of ATP hydrolysis energy into forces and motions. We find that the catalysis of these molecular motors do not follow the simple Michaelis-Menten mechanism. The motor activities, such as the hydrolysis or processive rates, of kinesin, myosin a...
